I typically put a similar statement like this one at the end of most of my blog posts. However, today I’ve included it at the beginning because this post is an overview of Section 2 about Happiness. This is the second of three sections to be included in my manuscript titled On The Other Side of Trying Hard: Healing, Happiness, and Holiness

My blog post titles below include the chapter title (example: What Is It About That Word?). The phrase in parentheses is a subheading from that chapter (example: should I even write about happiness?).

I’ve listed all of my blog post titles (chapter titles and subheadings) from the happiness section and included a couple of sentences to recap each chapter.

I’ll be back tomorrow or Monday to begin Section 3 about Holiness. Thanks for reading along and commenting.

In This Together,
Kim

For us to be genuinely happy we have to know what happiness is and what it isn’t, what makes us happy, and who to rely on for our ultimate happiness.

What Is It About That Word? (should I even write about happiness?), part 1

What Is It About That Word? (what happiness is and what it’s not), part 2

What Is It About That Word? (what do you think would make you happy?), part 3

What Is It About That Word? (happy thoughts we can’t shake), part 4

What Is It About That Word? (short-lived happiness), part 5

What Is It About That Word? (well-lived happiness), part 6

What Is It About That Word? (what is it about that Name?), part 7

Suffering is part of happiness. It’s purpose is to change us, to shed light on our purpose, and to show us how much we need God.

Happiness and Suffering (that’s the deal), part 1

Happiness and Suffering (in deep waters), part 2

Happiness and Suffering (on high places), part 3

Happiness and Suffering (the purposes of pain: chance), part 4

Happiness and Suffering (the purposes of pain: choice), part 5

Happiness and Suffering (the purposes of pain: change), part 6

Happiness and Suffering (suffering’s purpose is for you to find yours), part 7

God wants us happy and that happens most often when I’m happy with who I am because I rely on Him.

Happy To Be Me (a fine line), part 1

Happy To Be Me (grumpy without God), part 2

Happy To Be Me (it’s my turn), part 3

Happy To Be Me (self-actualized or actually happy?), part 4

Happy To Be Me (God wants us happy), part 5

Happy doesn’t happen like a lot of us think it should and wish it would. It’s elusive when we’re looking for it, then shows up when we least expect it.

How Does Happy Happen? (someone to love), part 1

How Does Happy Happen? (something to do), part 2

How Does Happy Happen? (something to look forward to), part 3

The past, present, and future have a lot to do with serenity now.

Happiness Now (the past), part 1

Happiness Now (the present), part 2

Happiness Now (the future), part 3

I have something for you!
